process
Having been an avid tea drinking enthusiast for several years, I wanted to take on a different perspective on tea than one with which most people are familiar. I wanted to show tea as an international phenomena and demystify the process behind it.
I searched through thousands of publicly available photographs on sites such as Flickr, Picasa and Google Images. I contact the photographers to ask for larger resolution photos when needed. Most of the images chosen are personal photos taken by travelers around the world.
To continue with the intimate mood that the photos established, I hand-wrote all of the descriptive captions in my notebook and then ripped and scanned each one. The music, though not a focus of this project, was chosen for its calm consistent rhythm, so as to act as a soft background to the images presented.
