user experience researcher & designer

Having completed my MS in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) in May 2009, I am now thrilled to begin working as an Interaction Designer with HUGE in Brooklyn, New York starting July 2009. Until then, I will be traveling across northern India with a backpack and hoop. You can follow me on my video blog, Adventure Hooper.

During my time at Georgia Tech, I explored a variety of methods for interacting with everyday technology, both on traditional media and on emerging technology. I have a passion for finding solutions that make people happy and enhance the user experience of the objects around us.

In the 3 years before graduate school, I took part in a range of research and design roles, starting from instrumentation development in the United Kingdom as part of the latest innovation in men’s shaving at Gillette (and no, it’s not the 6th blade) to running usability tests for a major mailing company, Pitney Bowes, to designing an e-commerce application for an interactive television platform at Schematic (later nominated for the 2009 Global Media Award). Last summer, I ran a 2-month long research initiative that explored the UX processes and perceptions within HUGE.
